New KnowledgeSync Manual; Cool Dashboard Use

Well, weve done it.

After years of adding to (and adding to!) the KnowledgeSync Reference Guide, we realized that it was time for a total re-organization, optimization, and simplification. Additionally, new hardware options (Windows Vista, 2008, etc.) and best practice feedback from clients and partners alike made us realize that the time had come for a re-write.

And re-write we did; down from over 500 glorious pages to right around 250, the new manual is easier to navigate, contains more useful implementation tips, and doesnt cause a small patch of rainforest to vanish should you opt to print it out.

Most importantly, the documentation has been updated for all current releases of Windows and other operating system interactions, and provides simplified step-by step instructions on everything from authenticated email setup to the configuration of the new dashboard alerts module.

Click here to download the latest manual.

We hope you like what you see; if you have any comments or suggestions on the new manual, please send them to Don Farber at farber@vineyardsoft.com.

And speaking of the new Dashboard Alerts module . . .

Hopefully youve had the chance to build a couple of dashboards of your own, or have requested the (free) ERP or CRM Dashboard Paks from Vineyardsoft. Using Dashboards to show overdue invoices, inventory shortages, or other such information is quick, easy, and a big hit with staff and managers alike.

But you can also get really creative with dashboards - for example, we created a dashboard for a client who wanted to see the comparative totals of sales for today, month-to-date, prior month-to-date, and prior year month-to-date. And each of these timeframes needed to show number of orders, total revenue, cost of sales, gross profit, gross profit percent, and average sale amount.

This dashboard (just the raw output without any fancy headers or formatting) is viewable by clicking here. We think its pretty cool and hope you do too. If youd like to see how this dashboard is designed (it was designed for use with Sage MAS500 ERP, but can be applied to any ERP solution), send an email to farber@vineyardsoft.com and we’ll email you an EventPak containing that dashboard.

If you have any other questions or requests - or if you have interesting uses of KnowledgeSync functions which youd like to share with other KnowledgeSync users - please contact Don Farber at farber@vineyardsoft.com.

And thanks again for your continued support of the KnowledgeSync solution.

About Brianna Tinjum

I am happy to say I love my job! Everyday there is a new challenge and something new to learn, it keeps things interesting. I was very happy when we started Good Training because it gave me an opportunity to help people and share knowledge. Outside of the office I enjoy being active. When weather permits you may catch me riding my bike around the lakes of Minneapolis or hiking in Northern Minnesota. In the winter I get out snowboarding as much as possible and I always try to take a trip to the mountains. I made it out to Bridger Bowl in Bozeman, MT at the end of February 2008 and it was a fantastic time! Year round I participate in dance and yoga classes to mix things up. I love watching movies and you could say I may have seen too many. :) I also have a passion for reading - if I find a good book it can consume all of my free time.
