Marketing of the future?
Well, mobile marketing may not be the only marketing strategy of the future but it is beginning to look as though it could be a key player. What do I mean? Like many of you, I receive text messages on occasion from my wireless carrier notifying me of different deals and promotions. Now think about if more companies began sending text messages to your cell phone. What if your company began advertising to your customer and potential customer base via text? It may sound a bit invasive, most likely because we are not yet used to the idea, but it is almost guaranteed that the recipient will at least read the message. And why not? With T.V. ads you can change the channel, direct mailing are thrown away without a second glance, emails with suspicious subject lines are deleted without ever being opened. But text messages are a different story. I don't think I've ever deleted a text without at least reading the content, so when I stumbled upon an article discussing this new wave (well not completely new) of marketing I was intrigued and thought I'd share it with you.
"The mobile phone provides a direct line straight into the lives of your customers, but the potential runs even deeper than that. Mobile marketing opens up a whole new world of two way communication between marketers and consumers."
I find this subject exciting and I hope you do as well. I invite you to read more about Mobile Marketing and if you have any comments please share with the rest of the Good Training community and post them at The Watercooler.
