Send SLX Button Missing

Has this ever happened to you?

This has happened to me, and though it is annoying it is usually easy to fix.

Your first step should be to make sure "Send SLX" is not disabled in Outlook:

 a) Open Outlook b) Click on Help in the Toolbar c) Chose About Microsoft Office Outlook d) Click on Disabled Items e) Ensure that "Send SLX" is not disabled.

If this is not the problem and you have your email open and ready to send but the "Send SLX" is not showing, you can:

a) Click on Tools  b) Choose Customize  c) Click on Toolbars  d) Scroll down and ensure that checkbox next to SalesLogix is checked.  If not, check it, if it is then...

You should be reinstall the dlls.

If the Send SLX button or the SalesLogix icon are not displaying in Outlook, use the following steps to reinstall
them.

1. Click Start, click Run, type regsvr32 /u C:\Program Files\SalesLogix\slmn.dll, and then click OK.
2. Open, and then close Outlook.
3. Click Start, click Run, type regsvr32 C:\Program Files\SalesLogix\slmn.dll, and then click OK.
4. Open Outlook to verify that the Send SLX button and SalesLogix Logo Ball display.

* The Send SLX button does not display in Outlook 2000 if Word is selected as the e-mail editor. To display the
Send SLX button, clear the option in Outlook to use Word as the e-mail editor. With Outlook 2002(XP), the
Send SLX button will display with or without Word selected as the e-mail editor.

* SalesLogix Advanced Outlook Integration and Outlook 2003 are incompatible with the “Use Cached
Exchange Server” setting in Outlook. If your company uses Microsoft Exchange Server and Outlook 2003,
you must complete the following steps on each user’s computer to disable this setting:
1. Open Outlook.
2. On the Tools menu, click Options. On the Mail Setup tab, click E-mail Accounts.
3. In the wizard, select View or Change Existing E-mail Accounts, and then click Next.
4. Select Microsoft Exchange Server, and then click Change.
5. Clear the Use Cached Exchange Mode check box, and then click Next.
6. In the message box, click OK, and then click Finish.
7. Click OK to close the dialog box, and then, close Outlook.

About Brianna Tinjum

I am happy to say I love my job! Everyday there is a new challenge and something new to learn, it keeps things interesting. I was very happy when we started Good Training because it gave me an opportunity to help people and share knowledge. Outside of the office I enjoy being active. When weather permits you may catch me riding my bike around the lakes of Minneapolis or hiking in Northern Minnesota. In the winter I get out snowboarding as much as possible and I always try to take a trip to the mountains. I made it out to Bridger Bowl in Bozeman, MT at the end of February 2008 and it was a fantastic time! Year round I participate in dance and yoga classes to mix things up. I love watching movies and you could say I may have seen too many. :) I also have a passion for reading - if I find a good book it can consume all of my free time.
