    Customizing SalesLogix

    Hello,

Can you tell me how to set a default value for a field and how to make a field required?

    Thanks.

    Hi Tim,

Thanks for the question.  There are many ways to accomplish what you are asking for, I'll give you one example:

    1. Create a picklist field
    2. Add a picklist to the picklist field
    3. Set a default value in the picklist and it will automatically populate the field

*In the properties of the field you can select a checkbox that will make the field required.

Let me know if this works for you, good luck!

    Thanks Brianna,

I guess I should have been more specific.  In this case, I'm trying to set a default for the Urgency field in the ticket details screen.  This field is a popup edit, not a picklist, so I don't see any way of setting a default value on it.

I was able to find the solution.  I thought this would be accomplished somewhere in the architect.  But the Urgency default is set somewhere else entirely.

Admin, Systems, Offices, Service and Support, Urgency.
