Creating group of contacts for calling program

I am trying to create a group of accounts that do not show SLX activity in at least the last six months either via a ticket or note/history.  We would like to update our database and indicate inactive accounts as well as change inactive accounts to active if needed.

However, I cannot figure out how to create the group so that only accounts appear that have not had activity in the last six months.

Also, we have been adding in primary contacts as we touch them in SLX, but I will want to use a contact process for this project, and do not want multiple contacts for each account being approached for this - just one per account.

Since you can't assign a contact process to an account, how can I do this?

    Thanks!

    Tonya,

You can use the LastHistoryDate field when creating your group of Account that have not been touched in the last 6 months.

When building your group of Contacts for your Contact Process, you can use the IsPrimary field as your criteria, IsPrimary=T will give you only the Primary Contacts on each Account.

So the LastHistoryDate field covers tickets and well as notes/history?  Or do I need to add something else to include the tickets?

    Tonya,

You would have to add an additional criteria to cover the Tickets.

You could use something like.....Ticket Createdate is greater than ???

    I hope that helps.

Dale, thanks very much for your help.

However, I can't get it to work this way - it is still showing tickets/history from the last six months.

There has to be an easier way - wouldn't any sales manager want to be able to pull up something quickly that shows all contacts/leads that have not had any activity over a given period of time?  Wouldn't that be a critical component of a CRM system?

Our sales users constantly remark that SLX is not user friendly - it is easy to put the data in the system, but pulling it out in a usable form is always much more labor intensive than you would think it would be.

    Tonya,

Patience is the first virtue you need to exercise when you are creating groups. Trial and error. Perhaps you can use the Status field or the Closedate.

There are many different ways to build groups. Knowledge of your database and knowledge of SalesLogix is a learning process.

If you do not find the Query Builder an easy tool to use. You can also write a sql script and use that script within the Query Builder.

The operator you would use is "in" and then you would check the Literal checkbox and type or paste your sql script directly into the value field.
