    contacts sync... (silly function)

can you only sync ad hoc groups to outlook? and not from a group created with conditions set.

e.g. group created for MY CONTACTS (where accountmanager is me), and as i add contacts the list grows), allowing it to automatically sync to my outlook/pda

so a user is expect to right click a contact and add it as a member to the group if they want it in outlook/pda?

when inserting  new contacts, can it atleast default to SalesLogixSync group?

You do yes, unfortunately you cannot set SalesLogix to insert the contact in to that group unless you can customise that area? that would be one for a developer.

Unless you upgrade to EL 8.0 whereby that does change. You can select a user and it will take all contacts that user owns. By using an ad-hoc group, however, you enable the user to have more flexibility/granular control - and avoids them ending up with everything in Outlook or, worse, all their friends in SLX !

    Re: contacts sync... (silly function)

we only use saleslogix for our worthy customers (i know that sounds bad)

friends etc are not entered into it, and i just thought it made sense to have a dynamic list.

at the sametime it does also make sense in giving some form of control back to the user. But unfortuantely where i work, i do not see sales staff adding members of their own, THEY WANT EVERYTHING ON A PLATE :-)

It's not SLX - it's Outlook - if they put a new contact in Outlook then *boom* it appears in SLX ! That's why you have ability to set the category etc.

    Hi Mike,

How are you finding v8 of EL? Im getting hassle of the users for missing activites and also duplicate activites within SLX! Im putting it down to user error until I hear otherwise Smile

Hi Adam - Dupes are still there if you also use AOI - I think that causes a lot of grief - along with I/Sync if they use it as well and also if they are remotes ! A "pure" install is fine !

We have AOI activated, we dont really want to disbale it but if its going to resolve the issue then so be it.

    Thanks Mike!
