    Checking for duplicates

There must be a way to run a check for duplicates.  I can't find it on any menus.  Any help?

    TIA

    Hi Theresa

Yes, indeed there is ! Login as Admin (or a user with relevant permissions) and go to Tools | Manage | Check for Duplicates - you then just add in the fields you want to use for DupeChecking and what you want to check (a group, entire DB etc) and it will then find them.

Unfortunately, this is all it does - it doesn't give you a list, you have to pretty much deal with them as it finds them. There are various tools out there (like Paribus, DQGlobal etc.) that does have these features. But, at least you have something to start with!

    Regards

    Re: Checking for duplicates

    Hi Theresa,

We have a fantastic free add-on for duplicate checking. This utility will provide a quick way of establishing the number and list of all potential duplicates within your SalesLogix system. You can choose to find duplicates based on the account or contact tables (including the address) and then create a group. This group can then be worked through, merging where necessary those records which are identified as actual duplicates.

Feel free to contact me for further detail on this utility  adam.travers@e1business.com
