When you have an existing ticket open, a Search button is available on the Details tab to search for a resolution. When this button is used to open SpeedSearch the text "&Search..." is listed in the Keyword window, but I'm not sure what function this serves. If left in the Keyword window, this text does not bring up any search results, even though a Ticket with the exact same Subject and Description has already been submitted to SpeedSearch and can be found by entering other text.

Is there some functionality gained by using the Search button in the Tickets' Detail tab and the "&Search..." text?

No... As far as I know the &Search is just a default setting and to use SpeedSearch you need to type in a description other than &Search.  I am not an expert like other members who participate on this site so it is possible someone may jump in with additional insight.

Thanks Brianna. I am aware that users can Highlight text and then select the spyglass SpeedSearch Icon located on the Standard Toolbar to Search for that exact text. Since this function is available from any entity (i.e. Tickets, Account, etc.) it makes me wonder why the additional search button would be in the Ticket Detail Tab at all. The added function/button doesn’t preclude us from doing anything. I am just curious if I am missing some functionality that would be helpful to our processes.

According to the online Help

To search for information

1. Open SpeedSearch.

2. In the Keywords box, type or paste the word(s) you want to locate.
   Use a question mark (?) to replace a single unknown character, or an asterisk (*) to replace an unknown number of characters in a keyword. Use an equal sign (=) to replace a single unknown number. If you selected text before you opened SpeedSearch, it automatically appears in the Keywords box.

 This is according to the online help, I have not had any luck in making this work, but I have only played with it for a few minutes.

 Maybe you will have better luck.
